There are two main types of pre-fabricated steel buildings:
1. Straight-Wall Type
By far the most popular style, straight-wall pre-engineered steel buildings offer the most flexibility and customization in style. Whether you need the floor-to-ceiling window walls of an automobile dealership or a special configuration of windows and doors, a pre-engineered, straight-walled steel building will fit your needs perfectly.
There are many high-quality manufacturers of premium pre-engineered steel building systems, and Five Starr Steel has many years of experience erecting their buildings. They offer an attractive variety of finishes to showcase your building:
- Ribbed wall panels with a full 1½" deep corrugation for extra strength creates a building with clean and simple lines.
- Flat wall panels with stucco pattern. Flat wall panels feature an outside surface embossed with a stucco pattern, providing a rich appearance in a variety of pleasing colors such as white, beige, brown, green, blue, to name a few.
- Broad-ribbed design and embossed-stucco pattern. This finish produces interesting shadows and a consistent texture to the exterior of any building and comes in many, pleasing colors.
- Factory-insulated metal wall systems with an exterior stucco finish.
- Fluted and fine-line panels create an exterior surface with either deep or shallow corrugations that complement commercial or industrial buildings.
- Ideal for high-profile architectural applications! Flat panels provide a flat stucco-embossed exterior surface that conveys quality and taste.
- Revolutionary panelized building system offers unlimited exterior and interior design flexibility.
2. Arched Wall Type
The arched wall style of pre-engineered steel buildings - also known as the "Quonset Hut" style has specific and varied commercial uses as well. the arched and the straight-walled type. Each provides a sturdy steel frame that is specifically engineered to be erected quickly and securely. Each type has its ideal commercial uses. It is known for its curved-roof construction with no side windows or doors; however, any configuration of windows and doors can be factored into the two ends of the building.
Arched wall or straight wall pre-engineered steel buildings are so sturdy and reliable that many insurance companies offer discounts for buildings made of steel. Either type is energy efficient, requiring much less energy to heat and cool the building. And, either style will provide a low-maintenance structure that will not require the frequent and expensive painting and repair work that most other buildings require.
